The protection of your personal data during processing is an important concern for us and we want you to feel secure when visiting our website.

Personal data

Personal data is individual information about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as your real name, address, email address, company address, telephone number and other information about you or your company. Personal information may also include data that is publicly available. This includes, for example, information from social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google and other service providers.

Collection and processing of personal data

When you visit our websites, our web server temporarily stores the connection data of the requesting computer, the websites you visit on our site, the date and duration of the visit, the identification data of the browser and operating system type used as well as the website from which you visit us as standard for the purpose of system security. Additional personal information such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address is not collected unless you provide this information voluntarily, e.g. as part of a registration, a survey or a request for information.

In connection with registration for lecture events, the University of Kassel electronically stores and processes the data submitted with the form for requesting a ticket as well as the fact of attendance at an event including the date and time of presentation of the respective ticket. In order to deal with enquiries etc., data transmitted using the contact form may also be stored, processed and transmitted in form of an e-mail.

Use and disclosure of personal data

We use the personal data you provide exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling your wishes, i.e. generally to process your visit to the event and to respond to your enquiry. We do not use this data for product-related surveys and marketing purposes. Your personal data will not be disclosed, sold or otherwise transferred to third parties.

Security

The University of Kassel takes all necessary technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from loss and misuse. This way, your data is stored in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to the public. In the event that you wish to contact us, we would like to point out that the confidentiality of the information transmitted is not guaranteed. The content of forms you fill out and of e-mails can be viewed by third parties. We therefore recommend that you only send us confidential information in encrypted form or by post.
